Becoming an Environmental Health Practitioner

If you are interested in a career as an Environmental Health Practioner in New Zealand, you will normally need to complete a diploma in Environmental Health Science.

There are a number of other New Zealand degrees which are recognised as an equivalent by the Environmental Health Officers Qualification Regulations 1993. Click here to see the Regulations.

If you have overseas qualifications, the international qualifications recognised in New Zealand as "at least the equivalent to the diploma in Environmental Health Science" are detailed in the Regulations.
