The Role

The Environmental Health Team provides effective and efficient environmental health services in the Queenstown Lakes District. The Environmental Health Officer role is responsible for education and developing, implementing and enforcing associated legislation, Council Bylaws and Policies.

The role focuses on ensuring people are able to live, work and play in a safe and healthy environment. The areas of work primarily involve ensuring compliance with regulations in relation to environmental health-related matters, including food safety; campgrounds, funeral directors, offensive trades and hairdressers; water quality; noise and other environmental health issues.
